Today the words of the "sweet singer of Israel" are as necessary to the human soul as they were when king David composed them about 3000 years ago. The present Torah Anthology brings together the text of the Tehillim - the Book of Psalms and a comprehensive presentation of traditional commentaries spanning 2000 years of learning and inspiration. A major part of the prayer service text originates from Psalms. One must be aware that Psalms is more than just songs and praises to G-d. It contains deep mystical messages, discussed more at length in the Zohar.
